Secret Santa Generator: Free Gift Exchange Name Draw
Add everyone’s name, press Draw, and the generator matches each person with someone to buy a gift for. Nobody gets themselves, couples and family can be kept apart, and every person finds out their own match privately. There is no sign-up and no email needed, and your list never leaves your browser.
How to run a Secret Santa
- Type the names of everyone taking part, one per line.
- Optionally set a budget, a date for the exchange and a short message, and choose a theme such as Christmas, Tihar, Dashain, New Year, Office or Birthday.
- If some people shouldn’t draw each other, such as partners or siblings, add a rule.
- Press Draw names.
- Share the matches: pass the phone around, send private links, or print cards.
Three private ways to share the results
- Pass the phone: each person taps their own name and opens an animated gift to see who they are buying for. Nobody sees anyone else’s match, including the organizer.
- Private links: copy a personal link for each person, or send it straight on WhatsApp. A link holds only that one match, so there is no sign-up and the matches are not stored anywhere.
- Printable cards: print a card per person, cut them apart and hand them out face down.
Fair and secret
The draw uses your browser’s secure random generator. It arranges everyone into one big loop, so no one can draw themselves and two people never swap gifts, unless your rules make that unavoidable. If the rules make a draw impossible, the tool tells you before it draws.
Ideas for gift exchanges
- Office or school: set a small budget and a date for the exchange.
- Family: keep partners apart so they buy for someone different.
- Tihar, Dashain or New Year: use the festival theme and share links with relatives who live far away.
- White elephant or Kris Kringle: use the draw to set the order or the pairings.
