Edit PDF Files Online — Free and Private

The PDF Editor lets you change a PDF without installing anything or uploading your document. Add text, draw, highlight, cover information with a white box, drop in a signature or logo, and reorganise the pages — then download the edited file. Everything happens inside your browser, so confidential contracts, invoices and forms never leave your device.

What you can do

  • Add text anywhere on a page, in any colour and size, including non-Latin scripts such as Devanagari.
  • Draw and highlight with a freehand pen, a translucent highlighter or outlined boxes.
  • Sign documents by placing a PNG or JPG of your signature and resizing it.
  • Cover details with a whiteout box before sharing a document.
  • Manage pages: reorder, rotate, delete, insert blank pages or merge in pages from another PDF.

Good to know

  • Whiteout boxes hide content visually but do not remove the text underneath. For sensitive redaction, also convert the page to an image with our PDF to Images tool.
  • This editor adds to a PDF; it does not rewrite the original text. To change existing wording, cover it and type over it.
  • Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The editor runs entirely in your browser, so your document never leaves your device.

Can I edit the existing text in a PDF?

The editor adds new content on top of the page. To change existing wording, cover it with a whiteout box and type the new text over it.

Does the whiteout tool securely redact information?

No. It hides content visually, but the original text is still in the file. For sensitive information, convert the page to an image first.

Can I add text in languages other than English?

Yes. Text that standard PDF fonts cannot encode, such as Nepali or other non-Latin scripts, is rendered by your browser and embedded as an image.

Why can't I rotate a page that has edits?

Annotations are positioned on the page as you see it. Rotate pages first, then add your edits — or delete the page's edits and rotate it.
