Nepal Driving License Written Exam Practice: 500 Questions with Answers
The written (likhit) exam is the first step to a driving licence in Nepal. This page lets you practise the Category B question bank, which covers cars, jeeps and delivery vans, in your browser. Every question has four options and one correct answer, and you can use it on a phone, with no sign-up and nothing to install.
How the written exam works
According to the Department of Transport Management’s instructions to the Transport Management Offices, the written exam is set from this question collection only. The exam lasts 30 minutes and has 25 questions, each worth 4 marks, for 100 marks in total. You need at least 60 marks, which is 15 correct answers, to pass. The questions are drawn from each topic in a fixed number:
| Topic | Questions in the bank | Questions in the exam | Marks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Knowledge related to driving | 130 | 6 | 24 |
| Vehicle act and regulation | 90 | 5 | 20 |
| Technical or mechanical knowledge of the vehicle | 80 | 3 | 12 |
| Environment pollution | 30 | 2 | 8 |
| Accident awareness | 60 | 3 | 12 |
| Traffic signals | 110 | 6 | 24 |
| Total | 500 | 25 | 100 |
What is covered

- Vehicle act and rules: licence, bluebook, renewals, fines and penalties.
- Vehicle mechanics: engine, brakes, tyres, fuel and basic maintenance.

How to practise
Start with topic practice, which shows the right answer straight after you choose. When you feel ready, take the exam in the official format, with the same 25 questions, topic split, 30 minutes and pass mark of 60 out of 100, or a shorter custom mock test of 20, 30 or 50 questions. Questions you get wrong are saved on your device so you can practise only those, and you can bookmark the hard ones. Study mode lists every question with its answer and a search box.
Sample questions
- On which side of the road do people drive their vehicle in Nepal? Left side.

About the questions
The questions and answers come from the collection of objective questions for the written exam, Category B, published by Nepal’s Department of Transport Management (2078 BS). Official documents can contain typing mistakes, and rules and fees change, so confirm anything important with your Transport Management Office. This is a practice tool and not an official exam.
