Nepal Travel Map: Track the Districts You've Visited

Mark the districts you have been to on a map of Nepal, add the ones you want to visit next, and watch your progress grow. Your map shows visited districts in green and your wishlist in amber stripes, with a progress ring, province-by-province bars and badges to unlock. It is saved in your own browser, so there is nothing to sign up for and nothing is uploaded.

How it works

  1. Tap a district on the map, or search for it by name or by a city such as Pokhara or Biratnagar.
  2. Choose I've been here or Want to visit. For places you have visited you can add the month and a short note.
  3. Use Quick mode to mark districts as visited with a single tap.
  4. Tick famous places such as Lumbini, Everest Base Camp or Chitwan National Park, and their district is marked for you.

Progress, badges and a picture to share

See how much of Nepal you have covered, how each of the seven provinces is going, and earn badges such as Backpacker, Explorer, Trekker and Pilgrim. Finish every district in a province for a Province Complete celebration. Download your map as an image to share, or copy a one-line summary.

Places to inspire your next trip

The page lists more than 300 well-known places across Nepal, from the Kathmandu Valley's heritage sites and Pokhara's lakes to Everest, Annapurna and Machhapuchhre, base camps such as EBC and ABC, high passes like Thorong La, famous airports such as Lukla, national parks, hill-station viewpoints, rafting and remote far-western temples, each matched to its district. Search them or filter by heritage, temples, nature, lakes, viewpoints, peaks, treks, passes, wildlife, adventure, airports or cities and add the ones you love to your wishlist.

Frequently asked questions

How do I track the districts I've visited in Nepal?

Tap a district on the map and choose “I've been here”. It turns green on the map and counts towards your progress. You can add the month you visited and a note.

Is my travel map saved?

Yes, in your own browser on the device you use. Nothing is uploaded or shared. Clearing your browser data removes it, so download a backup file from time to time.

Can I use my map on another device?

Download the backup (JSON) on one device and import it on the other. The import adds to what is already on that map.

How many districts are there in Nepal?

Nepal has 77 districts in 7 provinces: Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim.

What is the wishlist?

Mark districts or famous places as “Want to visit” to build a bucket list. They show as amber stripes on the map, and you can change them to visited later.

Can I share my map?

Yes. Download the map as an image, or copy a short summary such as “I've visited 23 of 77 districts in Nepal”.

Which places are included?

More than 300 places, including mountains such as Everest, Annapurna and Machhapuchhre, base camps such as Everest Base Camp (EBC) and Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), airports such as Lukla and Pokhara, passes such as Thorong La, and famous sites like Pashupatinath, Lumbini, Phewa Lake, Chitwan National Park, Rara Lake and Muktinath. Every district has at least one place, and ticking one marks its district as visited.
